The Western Union Company (NYSE: WU) today announced a series of
disaster relief efforts to help the victims of Hurricane Isaac along the
Gulf Coast.
The Western Union Company has set up a no-fee Payments contribution
account in the U.S., benefitting the American Red Cross. Through the
month of September, donors in the U.S. can contribute to relief efforts
by making a no-fee Payments transaction at retail Western Union®
Agent locations, directed to the account, up to USD$5,000.
Donors will need to complete the Western Union blue Payments form, using
the company name “American Red Cross” or the code city, “REDCROSS DC.”
Please write in, “Hurricane Relief” as the account number.
Additionally, the Western Union Foundation today announced that it will
match employee donations for disaster relief efforts through the Western
Union Employee Gift Matching Program. The Western Union Foundation will
match employee donations to the American Red Cross and other qualifying
non-profit organizations on a one-for-one basis.
“The damage attributed to Hurricane Isaac has left thousands in need of

collected through the Western Union Payments account will help the
American Red Cross assist with critical efforts such as providing
food, water and shelter to families and children most affected by the
